Michigan’s 7th Congressional District

Michigan’s 7th Congressional District is the most competitive seat in the nation for 2024. The mid-Michigan district is anchored by the capital city of Lansing, features Big 10 powerhouse Michigan State University, and has a huge General Motors presence.

The district includes the entirety of Clinton, Shiawassee, Ingham, and Livingston counties, most of Eaton County, and slices of Oakland and Genesee counties. In addition to Lansing, the cities of Charlotte, East Lansing, Howell, Mason, Owosso, St. Johns, and South Lyon are also located in the Seventh.

In 2020, Joe Biden narrowly won the seat 49-48% and in 2016, Donald Trump won the seat 49-45%.
